The INTERCULTURAL COMMUNICATION (CAMP)

To make it easier for us to understand this concept, we had several exercises in class. We should guess or to do guess a drawing to another persons.
First and Second case: The person should guess or do to guess a drawing, but the another person could respond only by yes or no.
The last case: it was also to guess a drawing, but the two persons could ask and answer all the questions they wanted.
Its AIM is while the exercises, I realized that we want to communicate with another person who doesn’t speak the same language, we have trend to use others communication’s methods. And the communication is ease when the interview between two or several persons are face to face, or it is free and open.

The text (« The spirit catches you and you fall down », written by Anne FADIMAN) concerning Lia’s story, shows us the importance the intercultural communication. This tribes Hmong,  who don’t speak English and who are confronted to the U.S hospital environment, it is very difficult for them to preserve their culture. Also, it is difficult for the Majority to understand and to accept some customs which could be dangerous for the person concerning. Even if the majority cna0t understand it, they must accept it. For example, the illness of Lia is seen as positive by her family whereas it is considered dangerous by U.S. doctors.
In this case, the language barrier only adds to these problems. It is very important that the doctors try to establish a communication avec the tribes Hmong.
